The house was designed by Gene Hopkins. The design soultion was a  sensitive response to the surrounding homes that were built in the late 1800's (I think).  The design of the house takes direct references in mass from the carriage house of the neighboring (not Sidlik's) property. The materials of the exterior, cedar siding and stone, were also chosen to remain in context with the surrounding homes. The Sidlik’s plan to use the building as a guest house and entertaining facility. It is adjacent to their main residence and is separated by a private drive. The landscaping master plan was originally done by Olmsted, and JJR worked to restore and compliment the original design. (talk to Peter Burg). approximate construction costs were $350,000.00 for the house and $275,000.00 for the landscape work. (verify with Tamara)
